Mealime is closing on October 21. What to save before then, and where to go next.
If you plan your dinners in Mealime, you have until October 21, 2026. After that the app is gone, and so is the data in your account.
What Is Happening
Mealime's closing page says the app will be discontinued as of October 21, 2026. Albertsons Companies bought Mealime in 2021 and has moved the recipes and the planning features into Meals Hub, a section of its own grocery apps and websites. Pro subscribers are not charged anymore, and the Pro recipes and features are open to every user until the shutdown.
The same page says all personal data will be deleted when the app is shut down, and it mentions no export.

What Meals Hub Is and Who It Suits
Meals Hub is the meal planning part of the Albertsons Companies store apps and websites. Every Mealime recipe is in it, along with thousands more. It is free, including the recipes that used to need Mealime Pro, and the same core team that built Mealime supports it. You do not need a store nearby: Mealime says you can still browse recipes, make plans and build shopping lists even if you cannot shop at an Albertsons store. You do need to create or sign in to an Albertsons store account, and some preferences and settings have to be set up again inside Meals Hub.
If you already shop at one of those chains and mainly want the same recipes at no cost, Meals Hub is the sensible choice. It is the official successor, and the catalog is the one you know.
What to Write Down Before October 21
Mealime deletes personal data at shutdown and offers no export, so take ten minutes before October 21 and write these down. Names and a few words are enough.
Favorite meals.The dinners your household cooks again and again.
Household size.How many people you cook for on a normal night, and how many servings you usually make.
Exclusions and dislikes.Allergies and diets in one column, the foods you would rather skip in another. They are different things, and Simmerset keeps them apart.
Weeknight time.How long a weeknight dinner may take from the first cut to the table.
Recipes you added yourself.Copy them out or save their source links.
How Simmerset Uses Those Answers
The Simmerset onboarding asks for exactly those things: how many people eat, what must never be on the plate, what you would rather skip, how much time a weeknight has, and how many dinners you want. It proposes dinners before you create an account.
Type or paste your favorite meal names and Simmerset matches them to the closest dishes in its catalog, so the first week starts from what you already like. Recipes you saved elsewhere come in from a URL or by typing them in. We never ask for your Mealime login, and we copy nothing from Mealime.
Honest Limits
English recipes at launch.The app and this site come in six languages. The recipe catalog is English on September 30; translated catalogs follow and are labeled until they are reviewed.
Web app first.It installs on your phone from the browser. iOS and Android apps follow after launch.
No Mealime import.Mealime offers no export, so there is nothing to import. What you write down above is what carries over.
